Towards a World Where We Can Live to the Fullest to the Very End
Vers un monde de “pin pin korori” *

When I created CS60, my hope was to “create a world where as we get older we can continue living life to the fullest, until the very end.”
When my mother passed away at the age of 77, she was surrounded in her final moments by the voices of her children and grandchildren.
As she drew her last breath, she looked as though she was falling asleep while watching television. She did not suffer or struggle.
She lived to the fullest, until the very end.

My father, by contrast, became unable to stand due to a weak back and legs, and required nursing care until he passed away at the age of 86.
He was stubborn and his mind was clear, so this caused a lot of trouble. He would even start a lot of fights and throw diapers at his daughter-in-law as she cared for him.
I, of course, wanted to have my father live with us, but just putting that feeling into words made me realize that I would be putting my family through hell.
So I couldn’t bring myself to say anything.
I could not imagine a life where I was unable to rely on my own body, and required care from others. That made me realize that we need to “protect people’s dignity until their final moments.”

Something happened several years ago that confirmed me in that conviction. A friend of mine had a large dog, which had been bedridden for around three months, so they decided to try out CS60. Together we lifted up my friend’s dog and tried rubbing its legs with the CS60. Just as I thought: “that should have gotten rid of the toxins,” the dog got up and walked to the kitchen, then started eating some watermelon (it was the dog’s favorite). It walked round and round the room, before going back to its sleeping spot and staring me in the face.

Three months later, that dog passed away suddenly while out for a walk. When I heard that, I became more convinced than ever that humans should be able to go like that too. We should be able to live like ourselves until the end, without constantly relying on doctors, before bowing out gracefully. I believe that a world where we can live like that, fully and happily until our very last moments, is just over the horizon.

The number of seniors in Japan is continuing to increase, with the cost of medical care breaking the previous record of 42 trillion yen. At this rate the social security system could soon go bankrupt.
As a member of Japan’s baby boom generation, I do not want to become a burden to my children and grandchildren.
“Together with our franchise partners, I want to reduce the number of people struggling or bedridden with injury and disease.”
With this as our aim, we are now expanding our efforts globally.
