The Day I Met an Israeli Parkinson’s Patient

Hello again, this is Nishimura. I am currently in Israel. I took off from Haneda at 11am, and arrived via Frankfurt past 1am the following day. I have been visiting all sorts of places, from schools filled with Jewish students in Jerusalem, to hospitals and refugee camps in the West Bank, under the control of the Palestinian National Authority.

I visited a Jewish Parkinson’s patient at his home. When people develop Parkinson’s, they stop producing dopamine, weakening the muscles throughout their body. Patients lose the ability to move their arms and legs. They become unable to support their necks, and it becomes difficult for them to walk. When I arrived, the man was sitting in a chair, and could barely manage to stand up.

When I treated him, he gripped my hand as hard as he could. Despite his weakened muscles, he gripped me quite strongly. When I rubbed the CS60 on his hand, the muscles responded as though swelling up. Next I got him to stand up, gripping his desk. I treated his floppy muscles from his calves to his thighs for around two minutes, then did the same for his arms, and it felt as though his muscles were getting built back up.

I told him to try walking. He stood up and began to walk, and managed to do so longer and more easily that before.

His wife looked stunned and asked me how long the effect would last. She was also worried about what to do if and when his muscles deteriorated again.

Visiting Israel again personally would take quite a bit of time, so I entrusted a CS60 to a volunteer in the area. He should go to that volunteer if he ever has need again, I think.
